The trip leader will provide instruction for how to accomplish these tasks. No former experience is required. Participants should be able to carry all their own gear, paddle up to 8-10 miles a day in variable conditions (flat water), and tandem lift and carry a canoe a short distance onto shore.
Note: This is a remote canoe trip without cell service. The trip leader will carry an inReach for emergency communication. Advanced medical care may be several hours or more away.

Hi, I'm Tasha
I grew up in southern Oregon where I spent most of my time playing in the forest and on the rivers. My first multi-day river trips started when I was about 15 years old on the lower Rogue River. As an avid outdoors person just out of college, I pursued many different types of jobs that kept me in remote locations working with youth groups helping them with personal development. Some of my trip leading highlights follow:
-
2008-9 Wilderness Therapy Head Instructor, year-round 15 day backpacking trips, outdoor leadership, group facilitation, primitive skills, Wilderness First Responder training
-
2009-11 Lead Instructor for the North Cascades Institute, coordinating and leading 12-day canoe and backpacking on Ross Lake in the North Cascades
-
2012 Youth Conservation Corps Leader in Yellowstone National Park
-
2013-15 Backcountry and Interpretive Ranger for the North Cascades National Park

Fall of 2015 I became a full-time classroom science teacher. While I stopped leading wilderness trips professionally, I continued to lead more than a dozen personal trips and field trips for my high school students.

In 2024, reinvigorated by my new journey as a wellness coach and yoga teacher, I decided to create a wilderness adventure for women that includes elements of yoga, mindfulness, and reflection. I was looking for a way to combine my various skillsets to create a highly impactive experience for women needing a reset, looking for adventure, connection and fun.
